WALKING PATHS
PUCHILIBRO
Outstanding scenarios can be seen from the summit, towards
the north, the Pyrenees and Prepyrenees range. Towards
the south, the hole of Huesca, depression of the
Ebro river. Zaragoza, even the Moncayo mountain.
Puchilibro is the greatest height in the mountain
of Loarre ( nearly 1.600 Mts. ) We start from the
Castle of Loarre ( compulsory attendance ).
Let us situate in the parking heading to the north
down a path going towards some vertical rocks, there,
we will see the beginning of a track painted in
yellow and white colours ( P.R. ).
At the start of this point you will find a junction.
Take the right track. After a comfortable ascent
through a pinewood we will get a track (1 h.) we
have to cross and take again the previous one which
we were walking on. We will continue walking the
first section in a parallel way to main track as
far as reaching the crest which is climbing the
top (pay attention to turning). The crest meets
another track coming from the mountain pass of Fuenfria
(1 h. 20 m.) and with the same direction we were
going, we will crown the summit (1 h. 35 m.).
MIRADOR DE LOS BUITRES (Balcony
of the Vultures)
A beautiful excursion to behold the spectacular
scenery of Mallos de Riglos, which can be seen from
the Mirador de los Buitres.
We start from Linas de Marcuello. Highest part in
the village, close to a fountain; a snaking track
makes for the hermitage of Nuestra Señora
de Marcuello and the castle of the same name (30
Mts.). Both monuments are worth for visiting. From
the platform of hermitage we have to take a track
to the west. After 5' walking we will take a detour
to the left, higher than usual and in no goods conditions,
by which we will reach the Mirador de los Buitres
(1 h.), from there, a striking stone-wall, where
the vultures are accustomed to nesting, can be admired.
Looking at the left and background you can see the
Mallos de Riglos, Peña Ruaba and the Mallos
de Agúero.
CASTILLO DE LOARRE A RASAL
(Castle of Loarre to Rasal)
It is a track of a great beauty on its side
whole length. We start from the castle of Loarre
(compulsory attendance). Let us situate in the parking
heading to the north down a path going towards some
vertical rocks, there, will see the beginning of
a track painted in yellow and white colours (P.R.).
At the start of this point you will find a junction.
Take the left track. Walk close to the rocks in
question and you will find a runway against fire
by which you can go up too. Both roads join in a
mountain hut, Plandelugas (45'). Cross the platform
and asphalt surface, then get on going up by the
runway against the fire and you will find a parabolic
aerial (1 h.15 m.). There, there is a runway going
down by the north mountainside, but we take a track
situated on the right which ends in a meadow with
a fountain and a mountain hut, Fuenfria (1 h. 15
m.).
From the meadow, we will get on coming down by
the runway as far as to find a hairpin bend. In
that point, there is a track we must take (1 h.
55 m.). At the beginning, the descent is horizontal,
but when you cross the mountain pass of Selba
is transformed in a strong going down till you
find Foz de Rasal (2 h. 45 m.). Then tracks turns
to be a runway driving us to Rasal ( 3h. 15 m.).
Maps and roads will be provided
by the Hotel. |
